Open Real Estate privacy policy

Effective October 28, 2026

Open Real Estate is an iPhone app for real estate professionals, made by MLSAssistant, a product of WWW.REALESTATE Inc. (“we”). This policy explains what the app collects, who can see it, and the choices you have. It also covers these pages at mlsassistant.com/ore.

Open Real Estate shares its accounts and database with MLSAssistant's other apps and website. Sign in to any of them with the same email and you're using the same account and the same information.

What we collect

  • Your account — the email address you sign in with, and the profile you fill in: your name, username, phone number, title, brokerage and office, profile photo, and any website or social links you add.
  • Pro verification — when you verify that you're a pro, we look up your record in your MLS's member directory — your name, office, member ID and the phone numbers on the record — and text a code to the number you choose. We keep which record you verified and when, and a history of verification attempts. If you ask for a manual review, we keep your request and the reason you gave.
  • Your listings — the listings you publish or save as drafts — address, details, photos, remarks and open houses — and the audience you choose for each.
  • Your network — your connections, the groups you start or join, invitations, what you post to groups, and the access requests you send and receive.
  • Contacts and shares — when you add a contact or share a listing with someone, the app saves that person's name, phone number and email address, and other details from their contact card or that you add, to your contacts in the app — with a record of what you shared with them, when, and how. If you allow access to your iPhone's contacts, the app shows them alongside, so you can pick recipients. Your address book isn't uploaded: a contact is saved only when you add it or share with it.
  • Activity on what you share — the links in listings you share tell us when they're opened — we record that the recipient opened one, when, and whether it was on the web, in Messages or in the app, and show you. If someone requests a tour or sends a message from a listing, we save what they send, usually their name, contact details and message, and pass it to the agent — or to us, when we don't have the agent's address.
  • Searches and favorites — your saved searches, your recent searches and the listings you favorite.
  • Location — only if you allow it. The app uses your iPhone's location to find listings near you and to center the map. We don't store it; the area you search is sent to our listing search to find results.
  • Photos and camera — only the photos you pick or take, for your profile and your listings.
  • Notifications and server logs — if you allow notifications, your iPhone gets a token we use to send them. Our servers log requests, including IP addresses, to keep the service working and secure.

How we use it

To run the app: signing you in, verifying that you're a pro, showing your listings to the audience you chose, searching listings, delivering what you share, and notifying you. To keep it secure: limiting abuse of sign-in links and text messages, and stopping anyone from posing as another agent. To email you about your account and activity, such as sign-in links, verification notices and leads. And to answer you when you contact us.

We don't sell your personal information, we don't use it for advertising, and we don't track you across other companies' apps and websites.

Who can see what

  • Your listings — the audience you chose for each one. A Public listing can be seen by anyone with its link and appears on your house page at mlsassistant.com. Every listing shows your name and contact details as its agent.
  • Your profile — other pros on Open Real Estate can find you by name or email address, and see your name, photo, brokerage and whether you're verified.
  • Groups — a group's members see what you post to it, and its admins can approve or remove posts. Groups for MLS PIN agents and for each office fill themselves from verified MLS records, so verifying adds you to them.
  • Listing files — a .plf file you share holds a copy of the listing as it was when published. It can be forwarded anywhere, and we can't recall copies — but the listing's updates are shown only to its audience.
  • Other accounts with your MLS record — if another account has verified the same MLS record, we email it that yours did too, showing your email address partly hidden. Once you've entered the text code, the app shows you the other account's email address, partly hidden, the same way.
  • Our service providers — Google runs our sign-in, database, file storage, servers and notifications (Firebase), sends verification texts, and uses reCAPTCHA to stop automated abuse. Google Maps Platform shows maps and suggests addresses as you type, so what you type in an address field goes to Google. Bridge Interactive supplies MLS listing and member data. Mailgun delivers our email, and Apple delivers notifications. Each receives what it needs to provide its service.
  • When the law requires it — we disclose information if the law requires us to, or when it's needed to protect someone's safety or the security of the service. If MLSAssistant merges or is sold, your information moves with it, still under this policy.

MLS listings

Listings in search that come from MLS PIN are supplied by the MLS through Bridge Interactive and shown under the MLS's rules. They include the listing agent's name and contact details as the MLS publishes them. To correct an MLS listing, contact the MLS or the listing agent.

Your choices

  • Permissions — the app asks before it uses your location, contacts, photos, camera or notifications. Change any of them in the iPhone's Settings app, under Open Real Estate.
  • Your profile — edit it from More, then Account.
  • Your listings — choose each one's audience when you publish it. To change the audience, or delete the listing, open it from the Listings tab.
  • Your network — remove a connection, or leave a group, in the Network tab.
  • Contacts — delete a contact you saved from its page in the app.
  • Your information — email help@mlsassistant.com from the address you sign in with to get a copy of your information, correct it or delete it. Depending on where you live, the law may give you these and other rights; we'll help with them wherever you live.

Delete your account

In the app, tap More, then Account, then Delete Account. That permanently deletes your account and profile, your profile photo, your listings and their photos, your contacts and what you shared with them, the leads sent to you and the record of who viewed your listings, your connections, group memberships and access requests, your saved searches, recent searches and favorites, and your MLS verification.

Groups you started stay up for their members. Copies of listing files you shared can't be recalled, and we keep the record of MLS verification activity described below.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is open, and delete it as described above when you delete your account. We keep a record of MLS verification activity — which accounts verified which records, and when — even after an account is deleted, to prevent fraud. Server logs are deleted on a rolling basis.

Security

Information travels over encrypted connections and is stored with Google Cloud, where access rules limit each record to the people allowed to see it. No system is perfectly secure, so if you think your account has been misused, email us at help@mlsassistant.com.

Children

Open Real Estate is for real estate professionals. It isn't meant for children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy, we'll update this page and its effective date. If a change matters to how your information is used, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
